Join us for an inspiring day as we learn together what it looks like to raise the next-generation of disciples here in Norfolk. This is a day that will be invaluable for anyone involved with children’s or youth work in any capacity. Whether paid, volunteer, parents, or a church leader.
Mel Lacy (Executive Director of Growing Young Disciples) will be joining us for the day. Mel has been doing children’s and youth ministry in various ways, countries and contexts for over twenty years. She has had extensive experience in church based children’s and youth ministry and has, more recently, been the Director of the Children’s and Youth Ministry Course at Oak Hill College. She remains passionate about theological training for those in children’s, youth and family ministry and is now on the faculty of Crosslands, heading up the Youth and Children’s Ministry track.
Together we will be seeing the vital role of parents and church leaders in nurturing faith and getting practical strategies for effective discipleship within families and congregations. We’ll hear about grounding our teaching in biblical principles and tailoring it to different age groups’ unique needs and developmental stages.
After lunch we’ll be spending some time exploring the urgency of next-generation discipleship amidst cultural challenges and emphasising the long-term impact of investing in the spiritual formation of young individuals.
