Join us for an interview and Q&A with women from around the world, hearing about the joys and pressures they feel as they live for Jesus today. As we explore their cultures, traditions and assumptions, we might see our lives in a different light…
Led by Flick Hindley (Broadgrace Church, Coltishall) with various panelists.God saves us to be a part of his family, a family full of people at different ages and stages from different cultures and backgrounds, with different struggles and gifts. We will be thinking about how we do life together in a diverse, dysfunctional yet God-given and close-knit community.
Led by Emily Hay (City Church, Birmingham)In 2014, 54% of women described themselves as “unhappy with their body” and 80% said looking in the mirror “made them feel bad.” In a world where we are often presented with unrealistic standards of beauty we have a better story to tell ourselves and to offer the world about our bodies.
Led by Amy Smith (Faith in Kids)Hildegard of Bingen wrestled with this important question. She was a 12th century nun, medic, counsellor, theologian, sufferer of chronic ill health, composer, poet, Bible expositor, campaigner and more. Hear about her discoveries and the Christ she devoted her life to following.
Led by Emily Paterson (Broadgrace Church, Coltishall)Where do good ideas come from? These informal, topical discussion groups will give you a chance to share your experience with other women and think lovingly and creatively about how our churches can do more good.
Focus groups topics will include…Amy is a Resources Writer for Faith in Kids. She lives in Liverpool with her husband Ste and their four lively children. She is passionate about teaching the Bible simply, faithfully and creatively. Amy is always up for an outdoor adventure, especially if it can involve water and salt & vinegar crisps!
Emily is Women’s & Families Worker for City Church Birmingham. She is married to Tim and they have three boys, two of whom are officially grown ups now! Emily likes hitting a tennis ball, loves being outside and needs good coffee.
We’d love it if you tell other women about the event.
